Annie Get Your Gun

"Annie Get Your Gun" is the 1946 fictionalized musical story of the life of Annie Oakley (1860–1926), a sharpshooter who starred in Buffalo Bill's Wild West, and her romance with sharpshooter Frank Butler.

The original production of “Annie Get Your Gun” opened on May 16, 1946 at the Imperial under the auspices of Richard Rodgers & Oscar Hammerstein II.  Joshua Logan directed a cast headed by Ethel Merman & Ray Middleton.
